The first Pomeranian to complete the requirements in all 4 elements to earn the AKC Scent Work Master title was, MACH Horizons Do I Dazzle You Of Twilight RM2 RAE4 MXG MJS MXF SWM CGCA. Bred by Laurie Otis, owned by Sherye Wise. Bella was the 17th dog in the country to earn the Master title and the first Toy Breed to do so.

MACH3 Lord Peter of Bristol Court “Keoki” FGDCH is the first and only Pomeranian to hold dual champion titles in Flyball and Agility.

MACH3 Lord Peter of Bristol Court “Keoki” FGDCH is the first Pomeranian to become a Flyball Champion. He is the first Pom to earn the titles of FMX, FMCH, ONYX, AND FGDCH in flyball. He is also the first of any toy breed to become a Flyball Champion earning the champion title of FGDCH.

The first male brindle Pomeranian champion was Ch. Jan Le’s Color Me Badd (Ch. Jan Le’s Willie Makit x Jan Le’s Quartrcup Of Troubl). He completed his championship by going WD/BOW and Best BBE at the National Specialty under Judge Barbara Camp. He was bred by Jane Lehtinen and was owned by Jane Lehtinen and Duane Doll.
The first female brindle Pomeranian to be awarded a championship was CH Jan Le’s Rumm Tumm Tigger (CH Jan Le’s Willie Makit x Jan Le’s Quartrcup Of Troubl). She was bred and owned by Judy Mehciz and Jane Lehtinen.
The first Pomeranian to earn three performance titles was Ollie Blue Bluster, CDX TD OA CGC TT GC. “Ollie” was bred by Ray Mooney and was owned by Randall F. & Ann Griffith Morris of Portland, OR.
The first Pomeranian to earn a Novice Agility (NA) title was Kassel’s Dandelion Down, UD NA HOF ROM. “Dande” was owned by Lois Morkassel of Fargo, ND.

The first Obedience Trial Champion Pomeranian was OTCH Uhland’s Creme Puff Delight, owned by Eleanore Uhland.
The first Pomeranian to earn a Canine Good Citizenship (CGC) award was CH Idlewyld Lavalier, CDX CGC HOF (CH Idlewyld Gemstone, CDX HOF x CH Idlewyld Sar Pendant, CD ROM), bred, owned and handled by Margaret McKee. CH Idlewyld Lavalier, CDX CGC HOF was also the first dual titled Pomeranian from dual titled parents.
CH Great Elms Prince Charming II, ROMX HOF (CH Cedarwood’s Image of Diamond, ROM x Great Elms Sweet Candy, ROMS), handled by Skip Piazza, was awarded Best In Show at the Westminster Kennel Club Show at Madison Square Garden by Judge Michele Billings. “Prince” was bred by Ruth Beam and owned by Olga Baker and Skip Piazza.
The first chocolate & tan Pomeranian champion (Kittanning KC under Judge Frank Oberstar) was CH Silva Lade’s Almond Joy (“Kitten”). She was bred, owned and handled by Dianne Johnson of Baltimore, MD.
The first black & tan Pomeranian to be awarded Best In Show was Ch Bev-Nor’s Toasty’s Tanya, a bitch. She was bred by Beverly Norris & Charlotte Creed and owned by Beverly Norris & Ed Jenner.
The first Pomeranian to earn both a breed ring championship and a UD title was CH Nino of Thelcolynn, UD HOF, owned by Mrs. E. P. (“Billie”) Lambert of Arlington, VA.
The first black Pomeranian to be awarded Best In Show (Penobscot Valley K.C.) was CH Silva Lade’s Gentle Ben (“Bear”). He was bred and owned by Dianne Johnson of Baltimore, MD.
The first American bred female to go BIS at an all-breed show was CH Ridglea’s Luscious Retta. She was bred and owned by Mr. & Mrs. K. Terrell of Fort Worth, TX.
The official magazine of the APC, The Pomeranian Review, began publication with James Arima as its editor.
The first Tracking (TD) titled Pomeranian was Georgian’s Betty, UDT bred by Mrs. George Shepperd of Basking Ridge, NJ and owned by Mrs. Agnes Niven of Connecticut in September of 1948.

The first Obedience Title CD – CH Bantam Bacheler CD, owned by Mrs. Byron Hofman, published in the November 1940 AKC Gazette.
Glen Rose Flashaway, owned by Joseph Greenwood was the first Pomeranian to take a Group I at the Westminster Kennel Club.
The American Pomeranian Club was incorporated.
The first regional Pomeranian specialty club, Western Pomeranian Club was formed in Chicago, IL by Mrs. Hebden.
The first specialty show was held with an entry of 138. English judge Mrs. L.C. Dyer awarded BOB to CH Canner Prince Charming (black).
The American Pomeranian Club was accepted as a Member Club of the American Kennel Club and designated as the “Parent Club” for the breed.
The Pomeranian breed was recognized by the American Kennel Club and the American Pomeranian Club (APC) was formed. The first BOB was awarded to a Pomeranian in America. English judge L.P.C. Astley awarded this honor to (later Ch.) Nubian Rebel, a brown owned by Mrs. Frank Smythe.
