Introducing The Pomeranian
The Official AKC Parent Club for the Pomeranian Breed
Welcome to the American Pomeranian Club
Extrovert, Intelligent, Vivacious, Active, Sassy, Independent, Stubborn Nordic companion . . .
That’s the Pomeranian. It was bred down to its small size from a 50+ pound dog and still believes itself to be a large dog – it is just in a small package today.
It is the APC’s goal to represent and be the guardian of the preservation of this breed. We encourage and promote responsible, ethical ownership and breeding of purebred Pomeranian’s.
The APC is thrilled to announce an on-going breed history preservation project in the form of an online magazine database. Historical breed magazines have been scanned, converted to digital format and their text electronically interpreted to create a database of issues dating back to the 1960s, which is searchable by all! Thanks to the efforts of APC members Elizabeth Heckert and Annie Coughlin, and the financial support of the APC, this database is now LIVE!
If you have any print magazines you would like to contribute (they are destroyed in the process, fyi) please contact Annie Coughlin.
For technical support or suggestions to improve the website, contact Elizabeth Heckert. The site is now available as a sub domain of the APC website
The American Pomeranian Club stands united in its opposition to euthanasia of otherwise healthy Pomeranian dogs who have Alopecia X sometimes known as Black Skin Disease.
